The Degenerate’s Corner

Here we go again. Finished a horrific .500 last week as the Denver Broncos destroyed an otherwise good weekend of picks. See my previous post for reasons why that happened.

New Orleans Saints (-3 ½ ) at San Francisco 49’ers     Total:  46 ½

This is a match-up that I have been anticipating. The San Francisco 49’ers ascended to a 13-3 record with a hard-nose approach. Jim Harbaugh focuses on discipline in both the offense and defense. Run and stop the run… and of course lead the league in fewest turnovers.

Drew Brees and the high flying attack of the New Orleans Saints are favored and tough to defeat. Brees is the ultimate team leader and has the quarterback attributes to back it up. We will see the Saints in the NFC Championship Game.

New Orleans defeats San Francisco 24-17

Denver Broncos (+13 ½ ) at New England Patriots Total: 50 ½

I truly see that there is a more comprehensive game plan being enacted by Mike McCoy and John Fox of Denver to utilize Tim Tebow’s unique ability to run the spread option to perfection.  The Broncos ability to show a sense of the passing game will allow them to run down the throats of the Patriots.  Unfortunately, that is not enough as Tom Brady pulls out a moment of brilliance and outshines the young gun.

New England defeats Denver 31-21.
