2012 Mock NFL Draft: 1st Round                                     2012 MOCK NFL DRAFT                                                 BY ROBERT RAGAN (@REXKELLY)

1-Indianapolis Colts : Andrew Luck QB,Stanford * We all know it fills an obvious need with the departure of Peyton Manning. He is the best prospect at his position since his ,soon to be, predecessor and possibly an even better one. Let’s just say, the horse shoe fits.

2-Washington Redskins : Robert Griffin III QB, Baylor * Another obvious pick, hopefully filling Washington’s 20 year search for a Franchise QB.

3-Minnesota Vikings : Matt Kalil OT, USC * I think that this is the smartest pick for a team with a young developing QB and a franchise RB on the mend thats going to need some help getting a push when he comes back. Another option Justin Blackmon WR, Oklahoma State.

4-Cleveland Browns : Justin Blackmon WR, Oklahoma State. * Cleveland needs lots of help on offense and they need to score big on this pick, after missing out on a trade for the #2 pick (Robert Griffin III QB, Baylor). I think that they like Blackmon as much, if not more than Richardson, and they would love to disappoint St. Louis (who is also infatuated with him), after they failed to deal the #2 overall pick to them. Other options Trent Richardson RB, Alabama or Ryan Tannehill QB, Texas A&M.

5-Tampa Bay Buccaneers : Morris Claiborne CB, LSU * Tampa should take the best defensive player available and I see Claiborne as that player. He would be a natural fit in Tampa to eventually replace Ronde Barber as that captain at CB. Other options Trent Richardson RB, Alabama, Melvin Ingram DE, South Carolina.

6-St. Louis Rams : Trent Richardson RB, Alabama * St. Louis would love to have Justin Blackmon WR, Oklahoma State drop to this pick. Trent Richardson will be a great pick if he last this long. Steven Jackson will have to mentor his eventual replacement, much like Marshall Faulk did for him. Other options Justin Blackmon WR, Oklahoma State, Michael Floyd WR, Notre Dame.

7-Jacksonville Jaguars : Melvin Ingram DE, South Carolina * Jacksonville has lots of needs, the best defensive player available would be a great place to start (Unless they have decided that Blaine Gabbert is as bad as I think he is). Other options Ryan Tannehill QB, Texas A&M, Fletcher Cox DT, Mississippi State.

8-Miami Dolphins : Ryan Tannehill QB, Texas A&M * Miami is another team that needs to score big with this pick. They thanks their lucky Dolphins, if their could be future franchise QB drops to this pick. Other options trading up, Michael Floyd WR, Notre Dame, or trading down for another QB.

9-Carolina Panthers : Fletcher Cox DT, Mississippi State * Carolina has always liked a good DT, Cox is considered to be the best in this draft. Other options Dontari Poe DT, Memphis, Dre Kirkpatrick CB, Alabama, Michael Floyd WR, Notre Dame.

10-Buffalo Bills : Riley Reiff OT, Iowa * Buffalo needs to bolster its offensive line. Other options David DeCastro G, Stanford, best o-lineman available.

11-Kansas City Chiefs : David DeCastro G, Stanford * The Chiefs, much like the Bills, have a good overall team and would benefit from taking the best offensive lineman available. DeCastro would be a great fit if he falls here. Other options Riley Reiff OT, Iowa, best o-lineman available, Luke Kuechly LB, Boston.

12-Seattle Seahawks : Luke Kuechly LB, Boston College * Seattle is another team that could use help at many positions. The best defensive player available would be a good start. Another option Quinton Coples DE, North Carolina.

13-Arizona Cardinals : Michael Floyd WR, Notre Dame * Arizona would love to see Floyd drop to this pick. They need some consistent hands to line up opposite of Larry Fitzgerald. Other options Kendall Wright WR, Baylor, Best o-lineman available.

14-Dallas Cowboys : Mark Barron S, Alabama * Dallas likes Barron and would like to bolter the secondary that has been a weak spot in recent years. Dallas could always use an offensive lineman. Other options David DeCastro G, Stanford, Jonathan Martin OT, Stanford, best o-lineman available.

15-Philadelphia Eagles : Quinton Coples DE, North Carolina * Philly has a good all around team and would benefit from getting more pressure on QB. Other options Dontari Poe DT, Memphis, Courtney Upshaw DE/OLB, Alabama.

16-New York Jets : Dontari Poe DT, Memphis * Dontari Poe could be a disruptive force made perfect for Rex Ryan’s Defense. Other options Fletcher Cox DT, Mississippi State,  Courtney Upshaw DE/OLB, Alabama.

17-Cincinnati Bengals : Courtney Upshaw DE/OLB, Alabama * Cincinnati takes the whoever they have rated highest at either DE/OLB or CB and hopes to fill the other need four picks later. Other options Dre Kirkpatrick CB, Alabama, Whitney Mercilus DE/OLB, Illinois.

18-San Diego Chargers : Chandler Jones DE/OLB, Syracuse * Other options Kendall Wright WR, Baylor, Stephen Hill WR, Georgia Tech, Whitney Mercilus DE/OLB, Illinois.

19-Chicago Bears : Kendall Wright WR, Baylor * Other options Michael Brockers DT, LSU, Jerel Worthy DT, Michigan State, Stephen Hill WR, Georgia Tech.

20-Tennessee Titans : Whitney Mercilus DE/OLB, Illinois * Other options Dre Kirkpatrick CB, Alabama, Courtney Upshaw DE/OLB, Alabama, Chandler Jones DE/OLB, Syracuse.

21-Cincinnati Bengals : Dre Kirkpatrick CB, Alabama * Other options Whitney Mercilus DE/OLB, Illinois, Shea McClellin DE/OLB, Boise State,

22-Cleveland Browns : Jonathan Martin OT, Stanford * Other options Kendall Wright WR, Baylor, Cordy Glenn G, Georgia, Coby Fleener TE, Stanford

23-Detroit Lions : Dont’a Hightower LB, Alabama * Other options Shea McClellin DE/OLB, Boise State, Chandler Jones DE/OLB, Syracuse.

24-Pittsburgh Steelers : Cordy Glenn G, Georgia * Other options Dont’a Hightower LB, Alabama, Jonathan Martin OT, Stanford, Peter Konz C, Wisconsin.

25-Denver Broncos : Michael Brockers DT, LSU * Other options Coby Fleener TE, Stanford, Cordy Glenn G, Georgia, Jonathan Martin OT, Stanford.

26-Houston Texans : Stephen Hill WR, Georgia Tech * Other options Kendall Wright WR, Baylor, Alshon Jeffery WR, South Carolina.

27-New England Patriots : Shea McClellin DE/OLB, Boise State * Other options Alshon Jeffery WR, South Carolina,  David Wilson RB, Virginia Tech.

28-Green Bay Packers : Jerel Worthy DT, Michigan State * Other options best DT or OL.

29-Baltimore Ravens : Peter Konz C, Wisconsin * Other options LB or OL.

30-San Francisco 49ers : Coby Fleener TE, Stanford * Other options OL.
